Lining Description:
As women we connect, learn and practise women’s business. My Grandfather Finley Grogan's sisters Grandma Esme Hudson (nee Grogan) and Grandma Rose Richards (Grogan) were great woman advocates and founders of health services, culturally designed practices such as the Cairns Hospital maternity ward and indigenous medical services such as Wuchopperen and Mookai Rosie-mums and bubs centre for remote mothers coming to cairns to have their babies. They saw the need to provide health services for our mothers in community and remote communities of Cape York.
Our older women nurtured our young women in their roles and duties of cultural ways of child birthing practices, gatherers of food and in raising their children. Together as women, we stand strong together, when we support each other!
